Dear Readers and Subscribers,

We’re glad to welcome you all to the month of June, 2014. June is the 6th month of the year and has 30 days. In the early Roman calendar June had 29 days and Julius Caesar added additional one day, making June 30 days. June was initially named Lunius. The name probably comes from the Roman goddess, Juno, wife of Jupiter; she was the mother of the god Mars and god of sky and thunder as well as goddess of marriage. June is the first month of the summer season. It is known as a great month to get married. The longest day in the year occurs either on June 21st or June 22nd.

Father’s Day is an occasion to mark and celebrate the contribution that your own father (or father’s figure) has made to your life. It’s a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, parental bonds and the influences of fathers in society; usually celebrated by children appreciating their fathers. Some wives cease the opportunity to appreciate their household daddy’s and fathers of their children.  Fathers Day celebrates fathers and all the things they stand for and do for the families. The first Father’s Day was initiated by Sonora Dodd of Spokane on June 19, 1910 and inaugurated in US in the early 20th century to complement Mother’s Day. Father’s Day has been celebrated annually since 1972 when President Richard Nixon signed the public law that made it permanent. On the other hand, it is the heaviest day in the country for collect calls.

Discipleship Digest enjoins Americans and the world to celebrate and appreciate all fathers, granddads, stepdads, fathers figures (and fathers-to-be) for all they are and do; for raising world children with tough love. Discipleship Digest reflects on the theme: THE PORTRAIT OF A LOVING FATHER. No one was saved on the condition that once saved we shall never sin again (1 John 1:8-10). The father does not say,  “If I give you your portion of inheritance, you must never make mistakes on how you use or spend it.” The prodigal father gave unconditionally just as he forgave unconditionally. We attach here a copy and hopefully you will find time to read and enjoy it as well as pass it on to at least ten people.  Remember you’re too blessed to be stressed. Children honor your father and mother (the only command with a promise) and it will be well with you. Happy Father’s Day celebration!!!!
