FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Discipleship Digest is glad to participate in this season of Family Life celebration. Just last month, on May 13, 2012 the continent of North America celebrated Mother’s Day. On June 17th, the world celebrates Fatherhood. The two – mother and father, God designed and created to give humanity the lives they live; continue and increase our living on earth. They are the foundation of each family and deserve our celebration, appreciation and preservation (makeover). The portrait of fatherhood mankind has comes from God, Almighty. You wouldn’t have the authority and power to become a father, if you do not have a father. The DNA of the father must be in you. Whether your father is present or absent, known or unknown, living or deceased and responsible or irresponsible, the truth is that a man (a male) planted your seed someday.

In our world, we have heard and seen many men who have failed not only God and self but also family, society and manhood. Most failed in their leadership: for not being man enough, because of sin, bad company and association, wrong advices and not imbibing the fear of God. It was not surprised that King David admonished his son, that if he aspired to being a great leader, he must first be a real man (1 King 2:2). A real man is a middle manager between God and those God put in his way. He must be a man of faith and obtains his strength from God only. He must read and meditate on the word daily; he’s obedient to the instructions of God, his heavenly Father and run his family with discretion. His children may not obey him except he obeys his father. His children shall not care for him except he cares for his father.

Pilate announced Jesus, behold the man (John 19:5b) – A strong man and a real man. Real men are great fathers. They make or adopt babies because they want to be fathers; also mentor many other children. They are not perfect people but know how to return to the Father in repentance and obtain mercy and peace. In turn, like the Prodigal father they depend on the grace they have obtained and exercise unconditional forgiveness to their children and those God put on their way.  Like father Abraham, God trust them with the ability to raise their families and direct them toward Him. To them, I say congratulations and Happy Father’s Day.

Attached herewith our Discipleship Digest publication for June 2012 – Be a strong man and in TCFT –Abraham, Makeover Dad (Dads deserve makeover). Enjoy them and be blessed. Thanks for your comments and support.
